Old Wellingtonians RFC

Old Wellingtonians RFC - About Us

Wellington College Old Wellingtonians is an amateur rugby side, founded in 1994. The club is based in Ewell (roughly a fifteen minute drive from Wimbledon) and sees the majority of its away fixtures based in the South-West of London.

Contrary to popular belief, the club is not comprised of just alumni Wellington College alumni; in fact, the majority of our current members are now non-OWs. We pride ourselves on the fact that we don't have a coach or training sessions which, combined with our heads-up style of rugby, make OWs a great place to play...

About Us

Old Wellingtonians is an amateur rugby side, founded in 1994. We are the Old Boys' side of one of the most recognised rugby schools in England, Wellington College (one of the original founding clubs of the RFU).

Thanks to the generosity of the Old Haileyburians RFC, we share their Clubhouse at Ruxley Lane in South West London.

Although we maintain the closest possible links with our alma mater, Wellington College, we open our arms to fellow players from other schools and backgrounds (especially props!). Our 'no training' tradition allows us to get on with our lives mid-week and then on Saturdays we take pride in the open rugby for which we are well known. Combined with the odd social here and there, OWRFC really is a great place to play...

Want to Join?

Thinking of joining the Club? If you're looking to play during the season (September through April) then we'll be happy to have you along. We're always on the lookout for new members, Wellington alumni or otherwise, so feel free to get in touch.
